Waste treatment is a project that benefits the country and its people, and its economic benefits are considerable. First, it increases land supply. Studies show that comprehensively cleaning up old landfills can increase land supply by 300 million square meters, alleviating land shortages. Second, it is beneficial to the environment. It is predicted that comprehensively cleaning up old landfills can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 200-300 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent annually. Combined with increased land supply, this could generate economic benefits exceeding 1 trillion yuan.
