In the process of modern urbanization, landfills not only consume valuable land resources but also pose a challenge to urban sustainable development. As waste volumes continue to increase, these landfills are overloaded, posing a serious threat to the environment and public safety. This is particularly true of informal landfills, which not only pollute the environment but also can cause safety hazards such as collapses, landslides, and dam failures. Furthermore, methane accumulation can cause explosions, and sewage leakage can contaminate groundwater and undermine geological stability. Therefore, measures are urgently needed to treat this aged waste, eliminate safety hazards, restore the land, and restore ecological balance.

To address this challenge, a sorting system can be used to process aged waste. This system includes a variety of equipment, including conveyors, drum screens, air separators, drop pan screens, and iron removers. First, the aged waste is coarsely crushed and then transported via a belt conveyor to the drum screen for preliminary screening. During the screening process, waste with a diameter greater than 80mm is called the oversize, while waste with a diameter less than 80mm is called the undersize. The oversize typically includes paper, wood, plastic, leather, and stone. This material is then separated into lightweight combustibles by an air separator and further crushed by a crusher to meet the RDF material requirements of the incinerator.
