1. Designated collection

The sanitation unit will have garbage trucks to collect garbage at each placement point on a regular basis. Some cities have built garbage transfer stations, and garbage trucks will take the garbage back to the transfer station and then transport it out in a unified manner.

The main function of the garbage transfer station is to shrink the garbage, or to transfer the garbage bins (barrels) at each collection point. If there is no garbage transfer station, most of it will be directly transported to the garbage dump.

2. Garbage sorting

As we all know, domestic garbage is diverse. There are many renewable energy sources (metals, plastics, cardboard, etc.) in it, and there are also many pollutants (batteries, etc.).

When the final treatment is carried out, garbage sorting will be carried out at the garbage dump. Cities with standards have already implemented automated garbage sorting and disposal systems. However, at present, most countries and regions still rely mainly on manual sorting.

In fact, many times, the waste has been picked up by scavengers at the garbage collection points. Of course, the work of manual sorting of garbage is almost entirely the cooperation of public officials and social forces.

3. Final treatment

At present, the most common methods are landfill and incineration. Landfill means that the processed garbage is compressed and transported to a specific garbage disposal site for deep burial, and then backfilled with soil. With the passage of time, microorganisms consume and decompose the garbage. This method is generally suitable for ordinary domestic garbage, such as vegetable leaves, leftovers and other decomposable garbage. Landfills belong to resources because they need to meet the conditions of water resources, planting areas, and residential areas.

4. Incineration

For packaging bags, foam plastics, plastic lunch boxes and other garbage, it is not easy to be decomposed by nature, so incineration must be used at this time.
